Southend | Dunaverty Rock
Viewable from Columbas Footprints or accessible by walking through Dunaverty Golf Club, Dunaverty Rock is the location of a claimed massacre.
The massacre is said to have involved 300 people murdered at the hands of the Earl of Argyll in 1647 where the people, forced to the rock (presumably as a result of a land or living dispute or of an apposing side of battle) were killed.
