Machrihanish Bay

Everyone loves a walk along the beach, Kintyre has some superb stretches of beach ideal for that romantic evening walk.

Machrihanish Bay is a golden stretch of sand which curves around the coastline with Machrihanish golf club and course located behind the rising dunes.

The beach is often cleaned by local school pupils to make it as presentable as possible to visitors, removing washed up debris such as litter which can be washed ashore in these open coastal zones.

Further down the road there are also little bits of shoreline and coast to explore, with unusual birds and seals common place near the Machrihanish Bird Observatory.
